The Eee PC 1008HA is the long awaited "Seashell" super thin addition to the Asus netbook lineup. The 1008HA is only 1-inch thick and weighs less than 2-1/2 pounds. It includes a 10-inch screen, the new Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280, 1GB DDR2 RAM, a 160GB SATA hard drive, Windows XP Home and a 6-hour battery. Like the 1000HE the best thing about the new N280 Atom is not the .06GHz speed gain, but the faster 667MHz front side bus - up from 533MHz for the N270. The new processor combo in conjunction with the 945GSE chipset is capable of 720p HD video playback. The 1008HA also includes the new 92% sized keyboard that is much easier to use. Asus also throws in 170GB of free online storage.
